Avoid Spamming: Target Smart, Convert More with Cold Emailing and Linkedin outreach.
Cold emailing, when not done well, is flat out spamming.
However, when executed correctly, it can be the solution that your target audience has been waiting for.
Cold emailing has been around for decades, and some of the world’s top growth experts have used it to increase sales for their companies. Recently, Linkedin prospecting has become a sub-niche in this space, and many SaaS and service companies with medium ticket product prices have seen positive results. The key is to use it effectively.
A good cold email campaign should have a compelling subject line, engaging content, and, most importantly, target the right persona. Finding the right persona can be challenging. For example, how do you find the decision maker in a fintech company likely to buy product X or an accredited investor who would invest in product Y?
The mistake many people make is wanting to target a larger audience, when in reality, niche audiences yield the best results.
By targeting a niche, smaller audience, you will not only receive responses, but also engage people who are more likely to convert because they have probably been looking for something like your product or service. Start with 100 potential customers, then work your way up.
It’s the same reason why scam emails have typos. The scammer’s goal is to send phishing emails to a gullible, innocent victim. If they have typos, they are essentially weeding out recipients who are too smart to fall for the scam. Anyone who does not suspect an email full of typos and unfounded claims is more likely to convert.
A great conversion rate is 20-30%, while for most, a 5% conversion rate is considered a success. If you choose to use cold emailing or LinkedIn prospecting, make sure to target properly and save yourself and your contacts the stress.
Remember, no one gets it 100% right, the goal is to optimize for better results and waste less time.
